Andorra Songfestival, often referred to as AS #01, was be the 1st edition of the Andorran national final for the Own Eurovision Song Contest. Malú won the first edition of the festival with the song Ni un segundo achieving a total of 81 points.

LocationEdit

Escaldes i Engordany is the second most populated city of the Principality of Andorra, and is located high in the east Pyrenees between France and Spain. It is also the name of the parish that surrounds the capital. The principal industry is tourism, although the country also earns foreign income from being a tax haven. Furniture and brandies are local products. Being at an elevation of 1,023 metres (3,356 ft), it is the highest capital city in Europe and a popular ski resort. The city also developed its skiing facilities, to the extent that Andorra la Vella was Andorra's applicant city for the XXI Olympic Winter Games, the 2010 Winter Olympics. However, Andorra la Vella was not selected by the IOC as a candidate city, following the evaluation report of an IOC commission. It also hosted both the 1991 and 2005 Games of the Small States of Europe.

Melanie Olivares and Gerard Piqué are going to be the hosts of the first edition of the Andorra Songfestival.

Melanie Olivares (born Badalona, Barcelona, 18th February 1973 is a Catalan actress and model) she become popular in Spain thanks to the TV serie Aída where she acts as a prostitute.

Gerard Piqué i Bernabeu (born 2 February 1987) is a Spanish footballer who plays as a centre-back for FB Barcelona.

They both will host the two semi-finals and the Grand final, collecting all of the points from the international juries.


FormatEdit

The format of the Andorra Songfestival follows a bit the anothers national final's formats. First of all, the contest received 35 candidate songs in Spanish, English, Catalan and French languages, but  just 18 from those 35 songs will advance to the Semi-Finals. The contest has two Semi-Finals. The first is composted only by ballads, the second is composed just by pop, dance and rock songs. It'll has 4 qualifier songs from each Semi-Final, and the 5th and 6th place will go to the 2nd chance. The second chance will has 4 songs and the most voted song will advance to the Grand final. The Grand Final will be composed by nine songs, and just one song will win.
