Miriam Cani (born 30 May 1985 in Elbasan) is an Albanian-German singer and television host. At the age of six, she moved together with her family to Heidelberg, Germany were she soon attained German citizenship along with the rest of her family. She was a member of the successful German pop girl group Preluders. She hosted the Albanian national final for the Eurovision Song Contest 2010. Cani made her first TV appearance in Germany in 1993 in the show "Interaktiv".

Popstar[]

In 2003, Miriam Cani along with 13 other participants auditioned for a spot in the German version of the talent show Popstars and in the end was voted one of the winner and became a member of the girl group Preluders.

Eurovision[]

She hosted the Albanian national final for the Eurovision Song Contest 2010. Cani herself participated in the Albanian national final for the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 in Germany with the entry "Ende ka shpresë" in a duet with singer Alban Skënderaj.

Own Eurovision Song Contest[]

Miriam Cani first participated, together with Alketa Vejsiul, in the Own Eurovision Song Contest 4, contest held in Košice, Slovakia. Their song "Don't surrender" represented Albania, country which competed in the second semi-final for a place in the Grand Final, unfortunately the song failed.

Miriam returned in the contest in Own Eurovision Song Contest 13, competition which took place in Warsaw, Poland. Together with Alban Skënderaj, they represented Kosovo. The country competed in the second semi-final, but unfortunately failed to reach the Grand Final.

Both, Miriam and Alban Skënderaj returned in the contest for Kosovo in the Own Eurovision Song Contest 22, contest held in Constanța, Romania. Their song "Somebody hurts" competed in the second semi-final, for a place in the Grand Final, the song succeded and went on to win the Grand Final.
