Poland has participated in the contest 40 times, debuting in the seventh edition, with their best position being first, achieving this at the twelfth, twenty-sixth, fortieth and forty-fourth editions. Their most entries were selected through internal selection. However they have also hosted several selections with four of them being under the name of Polska Piosenka, the four-edition selection that selected one of their winning song so far which was "Electric bass" in the twelfth edition with 221 points. The second victory of the country came in the twenty-sixth edition with Christina Perri and her song "Human" which got just one more point than the first victory of the country, 222 points. The third victory of the country came in the Own Eurovision Song Contest 40 with Sarsa and her single "Naucz mnie", which scored a total amount of 208 points while the fourth victory came four editions later, in the forty-fourth edition with Margaret and her song "Cool Me Down", which scored a total of 249 points.

Poland failed to qualify to the grand final twelve times with one of them being a disqualification in the seventh edition. However the song which was disqualified, "Karuzela", participated again in the special edition where songs that had previously taken part were able to participate. Poland's best scored entry is their second victory which got two hundred and twenty two points. 

Poland has hosted the contest four times; in the thirteenth, seventeenth, forty-first and forty-fifth editions, with Warsaw, Kraków and Katowice being the host cities of the editions respectively. Jula, Liber and Isis Gee were the presenters of the thirteenth edition while Honorata Skarbek was the presenter in the seventeenth edition.

The contest has been broadcast in two different broadcasters; TVN and TVP. TVN was the broadcast from the seventh to the fourteenth edition where TVP replaced it. Andy Graham was the commentator in the seventh edition, when Poland debuted. After the disqualification and withdrawal of the country the commentator has changed and hassince then been Dimitris Ioannou. There have been several second commenatators in addition to the first like Artur Orzech who has been the second commentator for the most editions. Also, the spokesperson have been changing often with Sylwia Grzeszczak being one the most times.

Contestants

Poland debuted in the seventh edition and has since then only missed one edition. There have been a total of twenty-two entries with six of them achieving a top 10 place including two victories in the twelfth and sixteenth edition. The country has failed to qualify seven times and was disqualified once.
